Trevor Narraway

Owner +  Head Instructor

After graduating with flying colours from Mount Royal University in ’02, Trevor kicked off his aviation career with North-Wright Airways, flying single engine pistons, Caravans and Twin Otters (floats, wheels and skis) throughout the NWT, Yukon and Nunavut.

Trevor watched the Canadian North 737-200 Sched fly into Norman Wells each day and dreamed of one day operating the 'Freedom Jet'. He got his opportunity in ’06 when Canadian North Airlines offered him a position.

To this day, Trevor is an active Senior Training Captain and Simulator Instructor with Canadian North, flying both the 737-200/300 variants.

When not on the flight deck, Trevor can be found running marathons, competing in triathlons, and travelling the globe with his family. After climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, diving the Great Barrier Reef, and completing an Ultra marathon in Iceland, Trevor is a man with stories to tell.

Derrick Kocik

Training Captain + Simulator Instructor

With over a decade of experience flying for Canadian North Airlines and roots in Yellowknife, NWT, Derrick brings a strong connection to Canada’s north, a thirst for knowledge, and a dependable attitude that just cannot be beat.

After graduating Magna Cum Laude from the University of North Dakota, he was quickly offered a position as a Certified Flight Instructor, with both instrument and multi engine privileges, eventually earning his examiner authority as well.  He went on to obtain his US ATPL and worked as a Factory Instructor/Delivery Pilot for Cirrus Aircraft for some time.

When Derrick is away from work he can be found out in the mountains hiking with his wife and young daughter or on the farthest reaches of Great Slave Lake boating with his family.

Ryan Grajczyk

CRM Instructor + course designer

As a Mount Royal graduate with over 20 years of Canadian aviation experience, Captain Ryan Grajczyk is perfectly cut out for his role as Crew Resource Management (CRM) Instructor. He began his career with Kenn Borek Aviation and was quickly promoted to Captain. He flew the Beech King Air (90-100-200) as well as the historic de Havilland Twin Otter all over the world, including several tours to Antarctica.

Strong interpersonal skills and natural flying abilities brought Ryan to Canadian North in 2006. Here, Captain Grajczyk has flown the Fokker 100 as well as both variants of the Boeing 737(-200/300). Ryan is an active Captain with Canadian North and also manages the CRM department of the airline. Ryan has excelled in CRM, travelling all over North America for Professional development in the rapidly changing field.

Although an avid family man, when not at home you’ll find Ryan hunting and fishing in Southern Alberta or out on the rink playing pick-up shinny.
